Ordinary Joy

December 27, 2010

December 27 – Ordinary Joy   Our most profound joy is often experienced during ordinary moments. What was one of your most joyful ordinary moments this year? (Author: Brené Brown)

Ordinary joy

revolves around

my extraordinary children –

children I was not supposed to

be able to have,

children I was not supposed

to be able to hear laugh

or chatter

or cry or complain.

Watching them play on the beach,

see Niagara Falls,

watch The Nutcracker,

discover what Santa brought,

start feeling bad,

start feeling better,

make friends,

love school,

sing in front of everyone,

find favorite authors,

develop style,

ride a two-wheeler,

swim in the deep end,

make cards and show love

and talk on the phone and

walk dogs and

use their manners

to impress the cashier at Trader Joe’s…

These have been my ordinary, extraordinary joys.
